Your mission
As a Mechanical Engineer at Raith, you're a vital part of our system engineering group, specializing in precision mechanics. Within our engineering department, which encompasses system engineering, research and development and software engineering, we collectively work on sustaining, industrializing and advancing technologies for our electron beam lithography system (EBPG). Both for current use and future developments.

While your colleagues in system architecture and system engineering define the requirements and specifications for the EBPG, your focus lies in the mechanical design of modules, sub-systems, and components. For example, the wafer stage, optical column, bottom frame or vacuum chamber. Additionally, you bear the responsibility for ensigning, ensuring manufacturability, maintaining quality standards and fully industrializing any new developments or changes in design. You play a crucial role in the seamless transition from initial design to mass production, including managing the supply chain, by delivering robust and flawless mechanical designs.

Your responsibilities
•    Oversee the complete industrialization process of new or modified mechanical modules integrated into the EBPG system
•    Ensuring optimal manufacturability and impeccable product quality for new mechanical developments or modifications to existing technological designs
•    Generating and maintaining comprehensive mechanical technical documentation, encompassing 3D designs, 2D technical drawings, assembly instructions, and service manuals for both products and tooling
•    Continuously assess and address technical risks that may arise during the production process within our factory, as well as throughout our supply chain and at customer sites
•    Analyse and implement strategies to achieve required functionality, conceptualizing solutions, creating 3D designs, and collaborating with suppliers on detailing and producing prototype parts
•    Taking ownership of assigned deliverables within project teams involved in new developments, ensuring structured planning, coordination, and execution of tasks
•    Managing internal and external communication, including documentation and progress reports, related to assigned projects
•    Contributing to organization-wide initiatives aimed at improving structural and process efficiency
•    Reporting directly to the System Engineering Manager located in Best.
Your Qualifications
•    Possession of a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering, or a related field
•    Demonstrated professional experience of 3 to 5 years, including practical expertise ensuring manufacturability
•    Broad technical curiosity extending beyond mechanical engineering; knowledge of vacuum technology, high voltage and precision mechanics is highly recommended
•    Demonstrated ownership, pragmatism, and hands-on approach, with proven proficiency in project-based work
•    Exhibits creativity and strong communication skills
•    Strong analytical capabilities, with a liking for conceptual problem-solving and a drive for achieving outstanding team results alongside colleagues
•    Self-driven and adept at thriving in challenging, dynamic environments
•    Proficient command of the English language, both spoken and written.
